Along with the advance of internet technology and the faster and faster bandwidth, the content of the On-Line Game and the way playing it become much more complex and changeful. Analyses the researches about the On-Line Game, female players are generally much less than male players. Therefore, to know the characteristics and participation behavior of female players are the material factors to advance the market of the On-Line Game.
This study expect according to the interview of six high involved female
On-Line Game players, with the ZMET techniques, to discover and to know how they think about the process of playing it. Then, base on the interview of ZMET, develop the material factors to the internet questionnaire, expect to analyze and know the characteristics and participation behavior of female players.
The results are following:
1. The characteristics of female players
The female players are mostly between the age 21 to 25, students, single, academician and earning less than 15’000 NT per month.
2. The participation behavior of female players
The female players mostly play On-Line Game every day, 3~5 hours one time, played for 5 years, and prefer the free charge RPG On-Line Game, and willing to buy the items of the game.
3. The cognition of On-Line Game to female players
According to the result of this study, there are 5 factors to the cognition of On-Line Game: 「Transaction」、「Relaxation」、「Addiction」、「Management」and「Display」.
4. The attitude and behavior while playing On-Line Game to female players
According to the result of this study, there are 4 factors to the attitude and behavior while playing On-Line Game: 「Amphitheater」、「Modeling」、「Adventure」and「Gratification of Virtual Needs 」.
Finally, base on the results of this study , propose the suggestions to the dealer or developer of the On-Line Game and continuing study.
