Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 技術及職業教育研究所 === 95 === The purpose of the study is to investigate the constituent factors of the figural subscale of the Scholastic Aptitude Tests developed by Taiwan’s College Entrance Examination Center (CEEC), based on the pretest data obtained in December of 2006. The pretest sample consisted of 644 senior high school students, including 307 boys and 337 girls belonged to 14 senior high school classes from Taiwan’s northern, middle, southern, and eastern areas. The study used factor analyses to explore the factor structure of the subscale, with methods of principal axis factors and promax, to reduce the number of factors and suggest the most economic factor structure. The results show that there are three factors maintained, which matches the dimensions of the original item writing and test construction. Major suggestions of the study are as follows: 1. The names of the three factors are suggested to be Visualization, Perceptual speed and Spatial orientation. 2. Reorganize test items into the dimension of Perceptual speed. 3. Modify the definition of the Spatial perception, and design new test items to be include in the subscale. 4. Continue to develop new spatial items and performance tests.
