Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 技術及職業教育研究所 === 95 === The purpose of this study was to understand the organizational climate of vocational high schools, the status of teachers’ emotional labor, and the relationship between these two factors.
Questionnaire survey was conducted to collect the data. By convenience sampling, a total of 528 teachers served in vocational high schools in Taipei County were sampled as the subjects. 476 surveys were collected and excluding the incomplete ones, there were 436 valid questionnaires with a returning rate of 82.58%.
The related data was analyzed by SPSS 13.0 for Windows version through descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regressions. The major findings in the study were described as follows:
First, the school climate of vocation high schools in Taipei belongs to the open side of the scale. The degree of teachers’ emotional labor loading is a little bit high overall. The degree of openness for organizational climate in vocational high schools has a significant positive correlation with the status of teachers’ emotional labor. Within the organizational climate, intimate behaviors and directive behaviors can be used to prodict the levels of teachers’ emotional labor percieved.
Finally, there is no significant difference of teacher’s perception on the organizational openness can be found between different categories of sex, seniority, position, educational background, and the school type. However, significant differences of teacher’s persception on organizational openness can be found in different age groups and differenct maritial status. Furthermore, for the level of emotiona laber perceived by the teachers, the only differences can be found is among different types of schools.
According to the results of this study, the suggestions were provided to administration of education, principals of high schools and the ones who were willing to devote further researches.
