Then, bearing cover of gear box in car components was selected as a carrier in hot forging to probe into the formability of magnesium alloys. And, the stress-strain data obtained from compression test under different forming temperatures and strain rates are applied to analyze the formability of the bearing cover by commercial package DEFORM. Finally, by comparing the analytical results of DEFORM simulation and the experimental results. we tried to figure out the method that can manufacture bearing cover perfectly with low forging load. we also evaluated how temperature influenced hardness and microstructure of the bearing cover .
