The principle of the design method of this compliant mechanism is based on the torsion limit. The mechanism will become flexible when the external moment exceeds the predetermined torsion limit that we designed. In addition, this mechanism can restore to the original configuration when the external force is removed. The reason to develop this mechanism is that it can not only be applied to the design of robot arms, but also used in the new robot arm design for the intelligent robots in our laboratory in the future.
