By adjusting the different weighting of RGB-LEDs, one is able to get an illuminant which will produce a light feeling very similar to nature daylight. The research uses the color-of-gravity law of color mixture to calculate the flux weights of RGB color, then an optical tool software, Trace Pro, was used to design the layout of RGB-LEDs in order to simulate the weighting results. Based on the simulation results, a digital signal processor (DSP) control chip was adopted to modulate the duty cycle of RGB-LEDs′ drivers to get different weights by using PWM modulation techniques. Finally, a promote type illuminant was constructed and measured by a testing equipment, all digital lighting measure system, to certificate the overall quality.
