Among it, the IT software service industry has the highest output value, and is playing an indispensable role in all industries. In the IT software service industry, India has received much attention of countries over the world. Its successful experience of IT software service export is always an active and hot research issue by academic scholars and industrial experts, thus making India become a successful symbol of the IT software service industry. However, to date IT software service industry in Taiwan can’t still become one of the world-class IT software service manufactures. Therefore, this thesis compares India’s IT software service with Taiwan’s, and then analyzes the development of IT software service among these countries, and accordingly provides the possible improvement directions and suggestions for Taiwan’s IT software service in the future.
Based on the four primary constructors of Porter’s Diamond Model, the thesis presents the status of both profile countries’ IT software service industry, and adopted SWOT method to compare Taiwan and India by their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Consequently, this thesis found that: (1) due to the shortage of human resources and the high salary cost, our country should pay more attention on the quality of software engineers; (2) because the domestic manufacturer’ scale is smaller and has weak competition, our country should encourage the merge of software organizations and promote the CMMI certification; (3) as there are world-class hardware manufacturers in Taiwan, the domestic software service industry should build a close relationship with them actively.
