| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 資訊管理系 === 95 === In order to popularize quality concept and further to improve the quality of the software systems in domestic software industry, Chinese Society for Quality (CSQ) of Taiwan has started to promote the software quality education and offered the software quality-related training since 2002. Meanwhile, the CSQ has also established the “Certified Software Quality Engineer” (CSQE) certification program in domestic software industry. The purpose of the CSQE certification program is to demonstrate that the CSQE is capable of undertaking the quality engineering-related activities for ensuring the quality of the developed software products.
However, at the time that our government requires numerous CSQE for enhancing the software quality through the adoption of “Capability Maturity Model Integration” (CMMI) to domestic software industry, the number of people that apply for the examination of the CSQE and the number of the CSQE grantees are declining during recent years. Why are the domestic software engineering engineers not interested in the “CSQE” certificate? Is the CSQE certification beneficial for the grantees to obtain the individual benefit? These are the primary issues that this thesis is trying to research into.
Based on the 58 effective questionnaires collected from the CSQE grantees, the results presented that all CSQE grantees have a positive attitude on the CSQE certificate, have affirmative identification on their software engineering professionals, and believe that the certification has a great help to get the trust from their customers on their performed works. However, the results also showed that the acquisition of the “CSQE” certificate makes no significant difference in wage to the grantees no matter what their businesses and occupations are and how long their working times are.
