Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 應用媒體藝術研究所 === 95 === “Vincent” is a short comedy about gender identity crisis encountered by a nine-year old boy. The story line is surrounded by the protagonist Vincent, who felt his masculinity is challenged when he is required to dress on a costume, which he considers too feminine, for the stage performance. This short video is awarded the subsidy from the Council for Cultural Affairs. Filmed with HDV camcorder with 35mm adapter, the texture of the image appears soft and grainy. The length of this film is merely 15 minutes while the actual shooting period last 7 days. During the filming process, the professional camera man and lighting equipments are employed, the National Taiwan University of Arts and two elementary schools co-ordinated, and the cast and crews of over 30 people are participated, a scale goes far beyond a normal student film production. This dissertation includes theory and practice double dimensions, and is assigned into four chapters. The first chapter demonstrates the theoretical background, the creative ideas and the content of this film project. The second chapter presents the production process, which could be sub-divided into pre-production period and shooting period two parts. Its content is focused on the problems and solutions encountered during the process. The third chapter records the responses from the audience after its first public viewing. The final chapter concludes this dissertation with an extensive review and evaluation to this film project. The appendix to the dissertation includes scripts, etc, relevant documents, with the intention of preserving a complete record of this film production and providing for future reference.
