Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 音樂學系 === 97 === In this thesis, the focus point will be centered on Schubert’s Impromptus D 935 (Op. post. 142). Chapter one contains the introduction, motive and aims of this thesis, which also includes the research methodology. In chapter two, there will be a brief exploration on the social background and Schubert’s life. The style of Schubert’s piano music will be discussed in chapter three, as well as the origin of Schubert’s Impromptus and its characteristics. In addition, there will be a discussion on Schubert’s opus number and the comparison of different editions of the music score. In chapter four, analysis of the four Impromptus will be presented with the aid of score excerptions, and the interpretations on the four Impromptus will derive from the analysis and presented in chapter five. In the final chapter of this thesis, a conclusion will be presented with suggestions for performance and interpretation.
