It affects not only the circuit feedback stability but also the control performances. One of the factors of the converter control loop gain is the pulse-width modulator gain. In the past, this factor has been derived from an assumption that the switching frequency ripple is negligible. Reasonable accuracy has been obtained under this assumption. In this thesis, the ripple effect on the modulator gain was studied using analytical derivation and computer simulations. A new equation of the modulator gain was obtained. Simulation results using SIMPLIS package were used to cross check the theoretical derivation. Discrepancies from the two results were investigated and conclusions drawn.
