Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電信工程學研究所 === 95 === This thesis proposed a novel EBG-backed circularly polarized aperture antenna. The basic principle of this antenna is that it uses the open stub of the microstrip of the first layer as the energy source to excite the circular aperture with embedded EBG structure of the second layer. We make the reflection phase differences of orthogonal direction of EBG be 90 deg to achieve circularly polarized antenna goal. The proposed EBG-backed circularly polarized aperture antenna is designed to operate in X- and V-band frequencies. The X-band antenna is fabricated with dimension of 30mm square on the FR-4 substrate. The bandwidth of the axial ratio(less than 3dB) is about 500MHz and the gain is 5dBic for the designed X-band antenna. Furthermore, we use Low temperature co-fired ceramic process to implement our V-band design and adopt sequential rotate array method to enhance axial ratio bandwidth and antenna gain. The size of 2 by 2 array designed in this thesis is 6mm by 12mm.The axial ratio bandwidth (less than 3dB) is 56GHz to 63.5GHz and the gain performance is higher than 9dBic within spec. frequency 59GHz to 62GHz.
