To fulfill the raising demand of mobility, IEEE 802.16e is further proposed to support WiMAX mobile users. In IEEE 802.16e, handover has a great impact on system performance and QoS for mobile WiMAX. In this thesis, we proposes two distributed approaches to efficiently generate a proper target-BS list for each handover MSS over a mobile WiMAX network. A series of simulation experiments are conducted to investigate the performance of our approaches in terms of the handover success probability, the system capacity, and the handover latency.
