To achieve these goals this research will take into consideration literature concerning work pressure and then proceed with substantive research methods into procurement personnel work pressures. This will be accomplished via “Concept Layer Random Sampling” methods; initial sampling will be conducted on across all levels of associated posts followed by choice of and later extensive interviews with 10 individuals most suited for this research. Research components are as noted below. 1.Sources of work pressure for Police Department procurement personnel include personal, intra- and extra-departmental factors. Said factors may be further broken down into – (1) Unfamiliarity with procurement regulations. (2) Insufficient personnel and/or high turnover rate leading to excessive work pressure. (3) Higher level imposed procurement case completion dates. (4) Lack of support from superiors leading to confusion and inappropriate handling of procurement cases. (5) Judiciary investigations. (6) Procurement requests which are not allowable per procurement regulations. (7) Supplier contract breach investigations and handling. 2.Police Department procurement personnel work pressures will directly affect such personnel’s attitude toward work, this in addition to affecting their physiology, mentality and daily behavior. 3.Countermeasures to alleviate such work pressures include – (1) Directly facing such issues. (2) Seeking assistance from society. (3) Self-adjustment. (4) Suitable rest and exercise. (5) Time management. (6) Refinement of professional skills. 4.Concluding recommendations of this research are – (1) Procurement personnel deployment should take into account organization structure and workloads. (2) A system of incentives should be put into place to strengthen their professional skills . (3) Higher-level staff should create a procurement regulation knowledge base. (4) Procurement personnel posts should be filled by professionals, such identified by special qualifying tests. (5) Interpersonal communication skills and time management concepts should be strengthened for procurement personnel. (6) Future research recommendations.
