Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 語文教育學系碩士班 === 95 === The dissertations took Vietnamese spouses as the subjects for the study have soared in these two years, but only a few investigated Chinese language learning strategies via contrastive analysis on the pronunciation, especially in Hanoi as a criterion.
In fact, since the Vietnamese spouses in Taiwan are mainly from Southern Vietnam. A Vietnamese spouse whose mother language was spoken in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam was invited as the subject of this study, with the consideration of the wide divergence of the dialects in Southern and Northern Vietnam. The author collected the actual Southern Vietnamese phonetic data with self-designed vocabulary scale to confirm the diversity of Southern and Northern Vietnamese phonetic system. After that, the difficulty of learning the language could be predicted by comparing the phonetic system between Chinese and Vietnamese through contractive analysis. Finally, we used the self-designed word-list to proceed with the Chinese phonetic test and error analysis. The results revealed the following three major findings:
1. The most errors in consonant are the confusions of affricates ( and ), fricatives ( and ), alveolo-palatal fricatives ( and ), and unroundings ( and ) as a result of the position of tongue or lips.
2. The complicated factors in the vowel errors by the reason of the substitutions of Vietnamese vowels and the confinements of Vietnamese syllabic construction, including prenuclear glides weakening, and the debasement of tongue position.
3. The most errors found in tones are the Qu sound becoming Yin-Ping. They usually occurred when the Qu sound was in the initial position. These errors were mostly found when the speaker substituted the Qu sound by Vietnamese Huyen.. Vietnamese Huyen took a slight change, with the range of the tone becoming narrow. When the double syllabic Vietnamese Huyen was at the initial position, the tone took an abrupt and leveling change.
Finally, the teaching strategies of responding to errors from the above are listed, and with the hope that it can provide better and more effective Chinese pronunciation learning strategies to Vietnamese spouses and language teachers.
