| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 企業管理學系 === 95 === The rapid development of the global wide-band network has driven the growth of VoIP application. ISP industry promoted the low price VoIP service and quickly contributed to the boom of VoIP users in a global level. The low cost of VoIP stands an advantage in the competition of the telecom market. VoWLAN (Voice over WLAN) technology, combined with VoIP and WLAN, is also drawing raising attention from the enterprises. In addition, the following development of WiMAX technology is introducing greater motivation and expectation to the application of VoWLAN (Voice over WiMAX).
Via analysis of written literature and study of VoWiMAX industry, this research constructed seven dimensions of key factors to the successful process of voice application of WiMAX, which in total covered 22 key success factors, including industry environment, WiMAX technologies, terminal equipment technologies, policies and regulations, cost, marketing, and consumers.
After the interviews with experts, 12 vital factors among the 22 were further proved to be relevant to the future development of VoWiMAX industry in Taiwan, including the support of Intel, position of telecom firms, supply chain of hardware equipments, transmission rate, cross-net integrations, handoff or handover, design of operator interface, endurance of battery, cost of license, cost of system equipment, signal coverage, and price, etc
