Single-subject research is employed in this study to investigate effects of art. Therapy courses based on art therapy towards language expression of an autistic child. Through empirical studies, changes and improvement in language expression of that child after attending art therapy are analyzed. A teaching experiment of twelve lessons from two kindergartners .
Based on subjects and purposed of this study, conclusions generalized from exploration of literatures and analyses of various data acquired from the teaching experiment are as follows:
A、Content of art therapy activities suited for improving language expression of autistic children
(a) Art therapy activities containing language elements
(b) Designing interesting activities
(c) Using Media Dimension Variables, MDV in accordance with separate individual
B、Procedures of art therapy activities suited for improving language expression of autistic children:
(a) Using visual pictures to promote learning motivation
(b) Activities to be designed based on equilibrium of dynamic and static elements
(c) Practicing the art therapy courses repetitively
C、After attending art therapy activities, the autistic children exhibit improvements in language expression through qualitative and quantitative data
