Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育傳播與科技研究所 === 95 === Researcher conducted an action research on designing and utilization of media literacy critical thinking curriculum for gifted student in elementary school by using film as instruction materials. There are three subjects in this research, including: television, advertisement, culture, under each subject, four teaching units had conducted. In this research, the participants were the 20 five-grade gifted students, the class is taught once a week for twelve weeks. The research data were collected through classroom observation, interviews with the target student, researcher’s journal, and students’ learning sheets and feedback forms were also collected as documents. Finding sof this action research are as the followings: 1. The well-designed media-based curriculum will enhance the critical thinking ability of gifted students and with holistic extending thinking to enrich the content of short films can also enhance the critical thinking ability of gifted students. 2. The implementation of media literacy teaching could lead the learner to participated in the courses, the films with suitable guidance and the discussion, is helpful to the students positively participates in the study process, the good media literacy curriculum designs can be able to enhance the critical thinking ability of gifted students. 3. In the research also discovered the students with affirmation of the teaching processes, and when the students applying critical thinking to other each subject and in the event or discussion, even if is the quite abstract subject and the concept, the students also can finding the correlation from the concrete film content, out of this utilization they can use in another fields. 4. The students also can observe the content which in the film presentation, and they will discuss in the classroom with that film and the item which with in the daily actual life, about how many same and difference in there, and according their valuation to thinking with clarifies and critical. Researcher made following suggestions: various media-integrated instruction might be implemented ; Other high–level thinking abilities(other than critical thinking) of gifted students could be explored ; cooperative teaching might be considered for follow-up study ; more media-integrated curriculum should be experimented for correlation study or independent study; and teacher’s media literacy should be enhanced.
