Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 95 === The Study on Conducting Evaluations on Schoolteachers’ Teaching Specialty in Elementary Schools Abstract The purpose of this study is to establish an index for the evaluation on teaching specialty of elementary schoolteachers and a conducting measure through systematic research methods. The results of this study may provide self-examination and promote growth in specialty for schoolteachers. In addition, it can provide schools and education administrative agencies for conducting teaching specialty evaluations on schoolteachers. To achieve these goals, this study looks into literatures and based on survey, through discussions on related literatures about the evaluations on teaching specialty, to understand the basic concept of evaluation on teaching specialty. Furthermore, the study collects those opinions from policy interest related parties through “surveys on the elementary schools conducting evaluations on teacher’s teaching specialty” to be used as a basis for constructing an evaluation index and conducting methods for the evaluation on teaching specialty. Through the analysis of the results from survey, we can construct a practical evaluation index and conducting procedure for evaluations on teaching specialty. The evaluation index can be divided into three aspects: (1) the ability of planning; (2) the ability of teaching and management; and (3) the ability of specialty development, 12 levels, and 32 indexes. The evaluation conducting procedure should take notice of the following 8 aspects: 1) evaluation purpose, 2) evaluation index, 3) evaluation design, 4) evaluation organization, 5) evaluation method, 6) evaluation implement, 7) coordination and analysis, and 8) result application. Based on the result of this study, I will propose the following recommendations to be aimed at conducting evaluation on teachers’ teaching specialty in the future: 1. Recommendations for school and education administrative agencies: (1) Refer to the “schoolteachers’ teaching specialty evaluation index” constructed by this study, adding “administrative management” level index into the “the ability of planning” aspect, and adding “administrative guide” level index and checking standard into the “ability of teaching and management”. (2) Conduct an overall teaching evaluation to go along with school evaluations held every four years. (3) Promote recognition and ability on “specialty evaluation” in schoolteachers. 2. Recommendations for schoolteachers: (1) Increase the knowledge and ability on self-evaluation or to-be-evaluated, built a culture of specialty learning. (2) Teaching evaluation on schoolteachers can be used as a reference for self-evaluation. Keywords: evaluation on teaching specialty, evaluation index on teaching
