There are five approaches of the teaching materials of appreciation fine art, which includes Western fine art, Chinese and Taiwan fine art, popular art and technology art, customary and folk art, and children’s art . The topic of the teaching materials of appreciation fine art is assigned to six topics such as human figures, animals or plants, nature landscape, architectures, transportations, utensil and decorations. What is the selection of resources, difficulties, needs of the teaching material of appreciation fine art for a kindergarten is the critical issues for this study. All teachers who are working at the public kindergarten of the additional system of the public elementary school in Taipei City are the subjects of this study. The researcher designed the questionnaire “The questionnaire of the selection to teach the materials of appreciation fine art at the public kindergarten of the additional system of the elementary school in Taipei City,” applied being the research instrument. The questionnaire will mail to all subjects, who are total 872 teachers; while there are only 715 teachers return the questionnaires as validly samples for this study. The feedback percentage reaches 82%. All valid questionnaires are analyzed to gain the results as following: 1. All public kindergarten teachers of this study apply children’s art as the main content of teaching material of appreciation fine art. In addition, the animals or the plants, human figures are the main topics of appreciation art. 2. All public kindergarten teachers of this study acquired the knowledge of teaching materials of appreciation fine art attributes to self-learning from reading books relative to child art education. Most kindergarten teachers design the teaching content being the selection of teaching material. Kindergarten Teachers are the primary collector; and school or kindergarten is the most important place to help a teacher to collect teaching materials. 3. The difficulties for all public kindergarten teachers of this study are that they are deficient in the professional knowledge, reference books and resource of teaching material of appreciation fine art. 4. It is a important need for the public kindergarten teacher in the additional system of the elementary school, to progress child art education, she /he must follow the child development to designs a set of the material of appreciation fine art, to provide the network resource of art materials focused on a child-center as approach; and involve continue education program. In summary, the results of this study may help the public kindergarten teacher in the additional system of the public elementary school, educational institutes, and promote to be worthy further researches.
