Power system dispatchers need not only to be familiar with the whole system in operation, but also to perform evaluation on the apparatus and the system under expansion. This thesis mainly focuses on the contingency analysis for a secondary power transmission (69kV) system. Three kinds of performance indices which are associated with the power, loss and current are investigated in this study. Based on the power flow analysis, three performance indices are calculated for each transmission line. From the values of the calculated indices, the lines with higher values of performance index are to be selected for contingency analysis. Each selected line is then adopted to perform N-1 contingency analysis and the three performance indices of the whole system are obtained by summing those values of individual performance indices of the lines. The performance indices of the whole system are employed for examining the effects of the selected contingencies on the system under study. Moreover, the resultant fault currents are calculated and discussed for a single-phase as well as a three-phase fault on the bus of the primary substation (161/69kV). It is found that the results can provide for the dispatchers valuable insight to the studied secondary system. Pei-Hwa Huang 黃培華 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 114 zh-TW
