There are two methods have been conducted: (1) documentation analysis: the documents related to fishermen’s economic activities or daily events have been collected for building up the items of questionnaire (2) survey: based on documentation analysis, the questionnaire has been developed and sending to 200 fishermen in three fishing harbors. In reality, there were 142 fishermen involved in this research. Based on the data analysis, it shows: (1) the average monthly income of the fisherman is 30 to 50 thousands NT$ which is below the average GNP, (2) the level of satisfaction reveals average score shows 2.698 (overall score is 5), it means the fisherman dissatisfied their fishery career; (3) The level of consideration of children’s education shows average score 3.79 (overall score is 5), it means the fisherman concern and support their children’s education, (4) the fishermen show low willing to let their children continue the same fishery career and (5) if the fishermen feel more satisfied with fishery career, the stronger desire to let their children do the related job.
