The present wind speed profile in Taiwan , Building code is based on American and Japanese codes . Because Taiwan located at the Pacific area , which is prone to typhoon , the foreign relevant code is not suitable completely . Basically in recent years buildings are more than higher and lighter trend with material renewal and the structures are ifluened by wind-force increasingly . How to asssess and correctly with the hunction of the height , to development a new coefficient of the α value that accord with the wind specification of Taiwan Building Code , to provide the reference of analyze the wind speed presure in the future . This paper referenced in the Central Weather bureau and Air Force of Taiwan , the radiosonde of surveys data and relevant reserch , with the relation betwwen wind speed and height ,use the power law to find theαvalue which is suitable for the Taiwanese design of wind speed profile , with gradient height Z_g of boundary layer, provided to a designer more
suitable for the wind-resistant code of Taiwan .
