Slope failures always occur in mountain area due to typhoons and earthquakes, make the side ditch being blocked by falling rocks and soils , resulting in the function failure of mountain road.
This paper tries to study influence aspect and factor that influence the side ditch of mountain road by using Delphi Method law expert's questionnaire,then analyse in accordance with the result of the questionnaire to obtain weight of the aspect and factor. Through the shadow aspect weight power of the result of questionnaire, weight of influence factors are presented in order as:「runoff」、「road width, volume of traffic, speed limit」、「geological condition」、「slope vegetation」, 「management and maintainence」。
The results can be used for the decision of ditch types for further mountain road design。
