The paper was about the connection between leisure activities participation and anxiety by sampling academic subjects for gifted high school students in Taipei city; we analyze the relationship between 1. personal background variables and anxiety among relevant. 2. personal background variables and leisure participation among relevant. 3. anxiety now and leisure participation among relevant.
This study used a questionnaire survey to have academic classes for the gifted school for gifted students, as the target. By random sampling of 973 valid samples collected and "Taipei academic high school for gifted students, anxiety and leisure participation survey questionnaire" as a research tool, Inventory includes leisure participation, Zung’s self-administered anxiety scale (S. A. S) , the basic information in three parts. Pre-trial questionnaire, the questionnaire was officially information and analysis, the use of statistical methods included descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, Chi-square test and Scheffe analysis. The results summarized as following:
1. Background variables and the relationship between anxiety: (1) results rankings, academic pressure, schools and the status of family life satisfaction and total anxiety into a positive correlation. (2) leisure time to talk, relations are close, the pressure release and make new friends, such as feelings of anxiety and was divided into the total negative correlation.
2. Background variables and leisure participation correlation between: (1) parents and the socioeconomic background of no significant correlation. (2) place of birth order, with the results ranking academic pressure less significant correlation. (3) the person to talk, the relationship was close, monthly leisure spending and pressure can release a significant correlation. (4) sex and referred intimate friends have completely significantly correlated.
3. Anxiety and leisure status of the relationship between participation: (1) 6 leisure dimensions, "social activities", "personal hobby" activities and anxiety scores were significantly related. (2) "physical activities" as a negative correlation, has not yet reached a significant level, in "movement activities" help to reduce anxiety. (3) each week of leisure time, pressure release and referred intimate friends and anxiety are negative.
Based on results of this study, academic and practical recommendations for the future of a theme related experts and scholars interested in the reference.
