| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 美術學系在職進修碩士班 === 95 === During the past thousands years, Chinese scholars, gentlemen, officers, and notables used folding fans to drive away summer heat, and to cover faces. Even, folding fans were used to be gifts, tributes, and works of art.
First, this study try to show the functional elements, ”folding” of Chinese traditional folding fans, and then to analyze their look, material, and size in order to create an all-new product.
I hope to make a new kind of cultural product, rather than an exotic style, just like Japanese style or Korean style.
According to my ten-year design experience, I intend to transfer the 2D structural function of Chinese traditional folding fans into 3D products, and add some cultural innovation in our everyday life in order to show our Taiwanese design style. I hope this study can be used as a reference by designers in this field.
