碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 數位學習科技學系 === 95 === Service discovery is the most important application in pervasive computing that we can use our handheld device to enjoy the service around anywhere, anytime as we have a demand. This thesis, we proposed a service discovery mechanism suited for wireless mesh network integrated with mobile ad hoc networks. In order to reach networking of pervasive computing, we adopt mobile ad hoc networks to make up the short transit range of mobile hosts. We set up many brokers to manage local service registers for each ad hoc network. If mobile host has a demand, it would send search messages to broker for searching service first. We also proposed broker managers (BM) to store and maintain broker profile about position and servicetype because of moving broker. Broker periodic updates its information to BM and it also sends search message to BM for searching another service-indextable of broker while its service-indextable did not match the demand of mobile host. Another way, we provide a ring topology with BM to achieve fault tolerant of BMs. Overhead of BM must caused high in our mechanism because BMs has high responsible for broker updating and broker service search. It would distribute the overhead about working of one broker Manger if there are more than one broker Manger.
