These written works are analyzed from perspectives of family sociology and creation techniques. Factors such as the change of family types, issues in family life, interaction between family members, physical and psychological difficulties children encounter, and impacts that family issues have on children, is being discussed to help understand layers those novels try to reveal. From the creation techniques point of view, theme revealing, setting arrangement, and character description are applied to exam the writing techniques used in those teenage novels. Research methods adopted in the preset study are literatures analysis and written material analysis. Results show that: 1. Family types revealed in the settings of the materials correspond to real life situation in Taiwan: there is more nuclear family. From the aspect of the changing of family types, the number of single families in Taiwan is increasing, like what happen in real life. Family issues, such as family violence, divorce, single family, and children’s misbehavior and family conflicts are revealed in the novels, which show that writers of those novels ca really see the vibration of Taiwanese society. 2. Parent-child interaction is most described in their novels. Parent-child interaction is most described in their novels. Difficulties children have are mostly about peer-group associations. When they face this kind of difficulty, they need affection coming fro their family members, especially their parents’ support. Good or bad, family incidence does have profound impacts on children’s growing process and future development. 3. Themes in these materials are about multicultural appearance, care for weak trend family, complex between two generations, siblings association, parent-teacher-student interactions, seeking of family roots, three generations complex, and associations with neighbors. These topics are associated with enlightenment and growing. 4. “Open to see” method is mostly adopted in those novels. In the development of settings, most of them are steady. For the climax production, most writers of teenage novels realize the “actions triumphs reasoning “principle and handles climax with excellence. Most of them ends happily ad corresponds to the main theme. 5. Writers infuse character description with appearance description, language description, action description, psychology description, and setting description, which makes characters more vivid. 6. From the aspects of content analysis and revealing of themes, family-based teenage novels share dissimilarity with other teenage novels with different issues. Fro the aspects of setting arrangement ad description of characters, family-based teenage novels share similarity with others with different issues. Finally, researchers of this study hope to provide prospects for future writers of teenage novels to use multidirectional skills and show complete affection for teenagers’ psychological needs in their works.
