Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 動力機械工程學系 === 95 === In recent years, automotive industry has been crazing for appearance in product design in addition to functionality and practicability; and, the typical example is the lightings design. Because conventional lighting-design in cars is constrained by placement of focusing lenses, several new design approaches, namely multi-reflector and poly-ellipsoid design, have been adopted for automotive lightings. Due to the adoption of multi-reflector for ray focusing, the outer lens can be smooth and transparent without grooving so that design alternatives can be achieved at appearance design stage. The recent technology achievements in LED industry, such as high power, high illumination efficiency, and longevity in life cycle, has made many new applications as well as automotive applications in LED headlamps. In this thesis, we analyze a headlamp with an optical analysis program for confirming the simulation method together with experimental data. Based upon the design experiences of the headlamp, we further adopted LED as light sources for innovative designs of motorcycle headlamps according to the ECE regulations. Finally, a new design method is proposed and completely analyzed for headlamps powered by LED for future engineering references.
