Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 工業工程與工程管理學系 === 95 === Owing to the drastic development of information technology and third party logistics (3PL), logistics outsourcing has become a critical issue of business logistics. The operation efficiency of a distribution center usually significantly affects business performance. Furthermore, since the storage area is critical to a distribution center, effective storage management will significantly enhance the operating performance of a distribution center. Traditionally, the storage management operations (e.g. storage arrangement and storage re-allocation) rely heavily on the expertise of experienced engineers to make decisions. Under such circumstance, the decision processes for storage management operations are usually time consuming and ineffective. In order to assist the domain experts to more efficiently and accurately acquire suggestions for storage re-allocation operations, this research proposes a heuristic algorithm for storage re-allocation operations. First, storage and product data are acquired from the warehouse management system (WMS) in order to generate the storage information for storage re-allocation. Then, based on the storage information, the products in all storage could be merged via a two-phase storage re-allocation method in order to increase the volume of the empty storage will increase. Based on the above procedures, suggestion for storage re-allocation operations could be generated. Moreover, based on the proposed algorithm, a storage management system is developed to automatically generate suggestions for storage management operations. As a whole, this research provides a heuristic algorithm and technique for the engineers to efficiently and accurately acquire suggestions for storage management operations.
