Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 中西醫結合護理研究所 === 95 === ABSTRACT Objectives:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the longitudinal effects, After 4 weeks, 8weeks and 12 weeks, of acupressure at Feishu (UB 13), Pishu (UB 20), Shenshu ( UB 23) and Chiropractic for Preschoolers with Asthma. Methods:The study was conducted in the outpatient service of one local medical clinic. The study design was quasi-experiment study with longitudinal repeated measurement. In experimental group, the caregivers were taught to practice acupressure and Chiropractic for their children, 5 times per weeks/3 weeks/per month, totally 12 weeks. There were two instruments: Pediatric Asthma Symptoms Scales and Caregiver self-perceived Health state of Preschooler with Asthma questionnaires. The intervention effects from the study baseline to a 12-week follow-up were estimated using the Generalized Estimating (GEE) for repeated measures of Pediatric Asthma Symptoms Scales, and using Pair Samples T-test for pre-post test of Caregiver thinks Health state of Preschooler. Results:A total of 21 patients were in the experiment group, while 26 patients in the control group. The Asthma Symptoms degree has significantly decreased in the experiment group after 8 weeks (ß =-2.00 , P=0.03)and 12 weeks(ß =-2.18 , P=0.03),and health education intervention has significantly increased Caregiver thinks Health state of Preschooler in the experiment group(t =4.23 , P=0.00). Conclusions:The effects of acupressure provide a good reference of non-invasive nursing intervention and home care for nurses and caregivers of preschooler with Asthma.
