However, there was few studies exploration about the using of CAM by patients. The purpose of this study was:(1)explore the uterine cancer women self- applying CAM including the kinds, duration cost etc.(2) the related factors with the duration of using CAM by women. This study design was cross-sectional survey. There were 139 women receiving operations in the past year. 120 women (90.22% of 139 women)using CAM after their operations were recruited. The researcher conducted a face -to -face interview survey by using questionnaires. The results were as follows: (1) The characteristics of women using CAM are at the mean age of 53.23, married(88.3%),junior or senior high school educational level(54.2%),Tao or Buddhism religion (87.5%), house-wife(64.2%),annual income below 900,000 NT (84.2 %),The residences of Taoyuan, Shin-Chu,or Mau-Li counties(75.8%).began to use CAM after operation within 2 month (84.2%).(2) CAM using : most of women used 1~3 types CAM . The most common types of CAM used were "Biologically Based Therapies"(73.3%) and "Mind-Body Interventions"(70.8%), the average duration time of using CAM was 6.42 ± 3.69 month , the most common reason for using CAM to boost their body energy (85%), Most patients(90.8%)stated that the major source of support to used CAM was their family . Approximately(77.5%)had never informed their health providers about their using CAM. The main reason of without telling their health providers was "it is no necessary to tell my health providers about the usage of CAM ". The significant factors related with women's duration of using CAM were : occupation、 within 2 months after the Uterine Cancer operation and role function of the quality of life, These factors explained 18.7% of variance. The current study suggested that health providers pay attention about the information of CAM usage by cancer patients in the future. In addition, health providers should learn more knowledge and conduct CAM evidence research. Therefore, we can provide appropriate suggestions for cancer patients about safe, appropriate and supportive usage CAM. Lee-Ing Tsao 曹麗英 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 117 zh-TW
