This situation could seriously endangere the surrounding habitant environment of the reservoir. Techniques integrated with remote sensing(RS), virtual reality(VR), and multimedia were used to simulate several devastating areas including Yong-Le, He-Ping, Da-Bang, and Li-Jia villages. Dynamic simulation of debris flow movement, both JSP and VRML programmed the motion of a debris flow in the study. The established system contains the virtual images environment and virtual background of engineering facilities for those devastating areas in Tseng-Wen watershed. This system can also provide a function to connect to the World Wide Web that can be used in real time updating the information regarding debris flow calamities. Therefore these systems can be used as a reference for conducting the sediment disaster prevention researches and the reconstruction projects in the near future.
