The method used in this study is quasi-experimental method and pre-test of and post-test designs of unequal groups are adopted. The experimental sample is 63 students of two classes of second grade with housekeeping major in certain vocational high school in Kaohsiung City. Since the students are sorted and qualified through the basic academic capability test for junior high school, students in the two classes are thus of similar levels. One class is taken randomly as the experimental group for the implementation of ”cooperative learning teaching method”; another class is taken as control group for the implementation of ”conventional teaching method”. The entire experimental period is the entire semester of the first semester in the second grade and the content is the third volume of commercial mathematics in the vocational high school. After the completion of the entire experiments, the following conclusions are drawn from the researchers: 1. Both “cooperative learning teaching method” and ”conventional teaching method” can be used to enhance students’ learning attitude but the former seems to have more obvious and distinguished effect. Therefore, ”cooperative learning teaching method” is a feasible teaching method for vocational high school students. 2. “Cooperative learning teaching method” has obvious effect in enhancing the learning performance of the vocational high school students, however, although ”conventional teaching method” has obvious effect on enhancing the learning performance of students with high or medium score, yet it is not only ineffective but also has adverse effect on the students with low score. It can be seen that ”cooperative learning teaching method is a more effective teaching method to students with housekeeping major in the vocational high school. 3. The high score students in the experimental group has progress in mathematical performance not as good as that in the control group; the major reason is because students in the high score group have to spend time to instruct students in the low score group so that the time they have is relative reduced; the researchers are going to design better class model to avoid the occurrence of such situation. 4. Most of the students with housekeeping science major in the vocational high school can accept ”cooperative learning teaching method” and like this kind of teaching model. Not only we can see from the experimental result that ”cooperative learning teaching method” can enhance student’s learning attitude as well as learning performance, but also students can feel it in certain degree that their score is increased and the study atmosphere in the class is enhanced. Therefore, ”cooperative learning teaching method” is a very effective teaching method to the students with housekeeping major in vocational high school.
