The subjects were 1504 public junior high school students in Kaohsiung City, Kaohsiung County and Pingtung County. The instruments used in the study were “Junior High School Student Self-concept Scale”, “Family Atmosphere Scale” and “Parent-adolescent Conflict Coping Strategies Scale”. The obtained data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression. After analyzing data, the findings of the study were as follow: 1.The junior high school students of different genders have significant differences on self-concept and parent-adolescent conflict coping strategies. 2.The family atmosphere and parent-adolescent conflict coping strategies of the Grade one students were significantly higher than those of Grade two and Grade three students. 3.The students who live with their parents and live in the normal family structure would have relation with their self-concept and family atmosphere. 4.The education level of the parents had obvious differences on junior high school students’ self-concept and family atmosphere. 5.There were significant positive correlations between the self-concept and parent-adolescent conflict coping strategies. There were significant positive correlations between the family atmosphere and parent-adolescent conflict coping strategies. 6.The self-concept and family atmosphere can be used as predictable variables on the parent-adolescent conflict coping strategies. It is the most predictive ability in the relationship dimensions. Based on these findings, suggestions for parents, authorities of education and further research are illustrated.
