Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 教育學系 === 95 === The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships of emotional intelligence and problem-solving ability among primary school students. A total of 840 primary students responded to a set of instruments, including “Emotional Intelligence Scale”, “Problem-Solving Scale”. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and step-wise multiple regression were used to analyze data. The results as follows: 1. Primary school students have low problem-solving ability. 2. Boys’ problem-solving ability (four dimensions) are significantly better than girls’. 3. There is no significant difference between background variables (grade, birth order, SES) in problem-solving ability 4. Primary school students (5th and 6th) have middle-high scores in emotional intelligence performance. 5. Significant difference was found between boys and girls in the performance of emotional intelligence, girls’ performance are better than boys’. 6. No significant difference was found between 5th and 6th primary students in the performance of emotional intelligence. 7. Significant difference was found between different birth order students. 8. Students with high SES performed significantly better than those with middle, low SES in emotional intelligence.
