Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 運籌管理所 === 95 === Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) has been a significant practice of supply chain management (SCM) to reduce inventory across supply chains while responding promptly to customer orders. Compared to traditional periodic inventory model, the effects of VMI in reducing inventory could be dependent on the variation of market demand. We implemented a supply chain structure with AutoMod simulation to study the effects of VMI on inventory control with respect to the traditional periodic inventory model. The market demand pattern followed the product life cycle (PLC) diffusion model proposed by Easingwood (1998). Results showed that VMI reduces more inventory costs as market demand pattern changes more severely.
