碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 運籌管理所 === 95 === Kaohsiung Port has become an important place of global harbor-based logistics centers due to Taiwan government’s policy to develop international hubs like airports, harbors, as the centers of global logistics, and FTZ (Free Trade Zone). The harbor-based logistics means to engage in the international logistics activities for transit, distribution, value-added reworks, etc., by joint of warehousing in the port side with terminal facilities among port side. The research is focusing on study of the logistics operation functions. The reference literature is based on the related operational activities of logistics center such as the development of sea transportation, Kaohsiung Port, Free Trade Zone, Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management, international logistic and harbor-based logistics centers. By the case study of harbor-based logistics centers in this research, theory researches and physical operations study in current logistics industry were applied, in order to explore more essence of logistics operations and facility planning, and make analysis on integration of concepts of both theory and physical operations. First, the researches find out marketing position and the marketing differentiation through analyzing industry overall environment by means of the concept of theory of facility positioning. Second, information gathering and analysis study on the required operation flows of logistics operation activities, and the relevant activities of information flows; requirement from end-user apply operation research methods, such as ABC, EIQ(Entry, Item, Quantity) to analyze main customer group, and models of logistics operations. Third, the layout of distribution center studies on the facilities planning of key construction for harbor-based international logistics center. The final stage is the study of the assessment of investment benefit by analyzing the investment cost, income and outcome of operations to bring about the financial index such as BEP(Break Even Point) and ROI(Return on Investment). By the case study to know the planning process of facilities planning of distribution center is different between literature and logistics industries. Literatures apply from systematic operations methods, but disregarding of physical operating regulations. On the contrary, the logistics industries are lack of logical and systematic research methods on facilities planning of distribution center.
