Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 環境與安全衛生工程所 === 95 === In this paper, the author is addressing the disturbance brought to neighboring residents of noise out of the exit of boiler chimney. In view of corporate social responsibility and for protecting environment quality, improvement in chimney noise is not negligible. In the past, the low frequency noise (20- 200 Hz) volume was not subject to penalty as it was not exceeding the noise control level provided under then valid law and regulation, and hence could not demand the noise generating firm to improve. This situation became increasingly unacceptable to the public and finally Environmental Protection Agency of Executive Yuan amended and announced the Low Frequency Noise Control Criteria for Amusement and Business Premises on Jan. 31, 2005 and has scheduled to put in force Low Frequency Noise Control Criteria for Construction Site, Plant / factory and Sound Magnifying Facilities. This is for minimizing the noise damage to the minimum level.
The noise range under the study is between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, the noise that human ear can detect. The study was carried out in the following steps:
1. Preliminary Survey: the description of complaints, judging through hearing at site and interviewing other people living nearby; 2. Measuring: measuring the noise levels around a plant and the noise of boiler and the moving components of a plant at starting and end of working cycle by precision measuring instrument; 3. Data analysis and evaluation: boiler noise has many different source and are with high dB, and it is necessary to determine which is the primary source of noise and which are secondary, based on the data collected before an improvement measure may be designed and only by this can the improvement be effective ; and 4. providing effective measures for reducing noise. According to our study, the noise of boiler chimney came mainly from Intake Noise, Operating Noise of Air Draft equipment and vibration of air duct.
Addressing the sources of noise identified, we have provided an improvement program and suggestions for reference of plants and other facilities.
Key words: Noise Analysis, Noise Control Techniques, Low Frequency Noise, Vibration Noise.
