It analyzes the quality of basic student population, the travel characteristics, the travel motivations, and the travel demands. This study is conducted by questionnaires from eight high schools in Chia-Yi, and uses them as samples to collect data. 1200 questionnaires are sent out and 927 questionnaires are effective. The rate of recovery is 77.25%. The ways of data analysis are Descriptive Statistics, One-way ANOVA, Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis, T test and Relative Analysis. The result of the study reveals: 1. Most of the interviewees are senior 2 girls and study in senior high. Their pocket money is less than $3,000 every month. 2. The students consider that the three-day outdoor education tour will be better and the preferred destination will be in northern Taiwan. The quality of the activity is just for tour and the cost is less than $4,000. Parents support the outdoor education tour highly and they will pay all the travel expenses. 3. Schools will discuss with the students in advance , vote the itinerary and travel agency and plan the concerning teaching programs; what’s more, they will ask the travel agency to hold a direction meeting. 4. The factors of students’ participating in the tour are “memories, releasing pressure, the class relationship”, “the itinerary plan and travel expenses” “the experience of learning” “out-class relationship” “enjoying the equipment and seeking for excitement”. 5. The factors of students’ participating in “travel demands” are “the demands for vehicles” “choices of accommodation” “choices of the travel agency” “travel activities” “travel scenery conditions” “dining choices” “teaching view condition”. 6. There is a clear difference between sex, the days and teaching quality of travel characteristics; there is no clear difference between sex and the whole travel motivations; there is a clear difference between sex and the visit place of the travel demands. 7. There is a clear difference between grades and the whole travel characteristics “the days of travel” “travel place” “the average cost”. There is a clear difference between sex and “itinerary plan and cost” of “travel motivations” “Memories, releasing pressure, class relationship” “ the experience of learning”. There is no clear difference between sex and the whole “travel demands” 8. There is a clear difference between departments and “the days” “outdoor education quality” of the travel quality. There is a clear difference between departments and “the experience of learning” “enjoying the equipment and seeking for excitement” “class relationship” of “travel motivations”. There is a clear difference between departments and “the teaching view conditions’ of “travel motivations” 9. There is no clear difference between “pocket money a month” and “travel motivations” there is a clear difference between “pocket money a month” and “the choice of vehicles” of “travel demands”. 10. There is positive relation between “travel demands” and “travel motivations” and there is a positive effect. According to the study above, the researchers provide some suggestions for high schools and vocational schools to plan outdoor itinerary programming in the future to put it into effect.
