碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 社會發展研究所 === 95 === The aim of this research is explore the experience of nonsingle community-based conservation (CBC) organizations in Taiwan. The research analyzes the cases of the Miaoli River Conservation Association (MLRCA) for understanding how a none government organization can insist the conservation goals set by itself as well as accumulate the social capital successfully. The organization also strengthens their collective action and internal institutional capacity. As a result, there comes an efficient conservation achievement. On one hand, the communication among the MLRCA, different level of conservation groups, and government organizations has lead to case of special nonsingle CBC organizations in Taiwan. In addition, it has become the core of a conservation network which brings CBC organizations in Miaoli together. On the other hand, the lacking of economic incentives for a long time has caused the organization gets trouble on running purely conservation---the young generation has no willing to join the organization and there is no full-time employee in the MLRCA have affected the collective ability of the MLRCA. Whether the idea of purely conservation can lasting the business of the MLRCA or not, as well as the effect of using the attractive factors on conservation results, are the key points of this research.
