| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 鄉土文化研究所 === 95 === This study applied the principle of metropolitan land cover interpretation. For land use investigation data, aerial photos, remote sensing images and vocational hierarchy diagrams of different periods, used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to conduct analysis on the earliest developed railway district of Hualien City, therefore by means of data analysis and presentation to understand the relationship between land use transition and railway in the old railway district of Hualien City, and further to discuss the development of Hualien City. The results showed that old railway station district of Hualien City has not gone down promptly as commonly anticipated, but rather slowly instead. Although Tienpu station district is an emerging area, but presents negative growth of land cover rate. The interpretation method of land cover rate adopted by this study was originally used at national scale, and its judgment against construction cover rate within grid is very subjective, however, as long as the resolution of image data is good enough, it is still possible to be applied on study of small-scale range. Additionally, it is also applicable to data of different sources and characteristics, and thus to decrease result inconsistency gained via different analysis methods, as well as save large amount of time. In future study, if compare among the utilization data of individual building floors, space development of land cover and population transition, as well as policy of Hualien City, it will be possible to know well about the relationship between factors and policy, so as to provide objective and reasonable reference for administrators while the government is conducting urban planning.
