However the study of native illustrators is few and far between; this study put focus on Su-sia Shu, a native illustrator, who was the first Taiwanese illustrator won the Bologna international Children's Book Fair Prize. The research is for the purpose of discussing the faith, the style of her artwork, and the influences and factors about it. Expecting in realizing the style of the artist, the appreciation to her high quality good work as well, may see the result of the research also cause the public to the Taiwanese illustration work more notice and support. The study mainly adopted interviewing, literary reviews and the iconographical categorization methodology; to categorize the style uses intuitionism. Finally, main points could be concluded as following: her growing background, experiences to the faith development, painting with her whole heart to show her own feelings about this island Taiwan, with her outstanding art work to trace the nature, the culture and the vanishing awareness. The creation style of Su-sia Shu has three main categories:“Semi-Chinese-painting”,“Semi-western-painting”and“Semi design”; Ten inferior categories:“Chinese-painting”, “Comic Chinese-painting “ ;”Lyric-realistism”,“romantic”;“Abstract-realistism” ,“Cartoon”. “Abstract-realistism”, “Symbolic ”, “Decoration”,” Cooperation composition”,“ or-ganic abstract”,Taiwanese style with European graceful exquisite work, The overall style appearance presents the transformation gradually, The main lyric-realistism style and The revealing feminine style. Her creation faith and the style is based on her personal factor, experience factor, environmental factor and other factors. This research based on the result to propose the recommendation to the future illustration creator is: research scope expanded, the participation mode, brings into line with the packing of the picture book. Besides, to the development recommendations to the Taiwan picture book are: improving the child ‘s cognition to the Taiwan traditional culture to develop the awareness of picture books in Taiwan. To encourage more woman to do art, virtually putting Taiwan International picture book museum establishment from idea into real, over all provides the government, the education, or other corresponding organization takes the reference.
