The perspective of the "integrative process system" was taken as the theoretical framework in this research. Six families with burnt adults were interviewed in depth, including two forms of interview, group and individual. The materials gained from the interviews were analyzed by phenomenology method to unfold the essence of the interaction and experience of the family system toward resilience. As the findings presented, according to the psychological response and the situation of the family member, the recovery process consists of five stages: crisis, destruction and involvement, transformation, re-adaptation, and stabilization. The family interactions can be interpreted as ‘unbalance and mobilization’, ‘symbiosis and coherence, ‘transition’, ‘to restructure the new relationship’. During family recovery processes, ‘condensation and togetherness’, ‘restudies’, ‘melts into understanding’ and ‘transformation and meaning endowment’ are the factors that promote family resilience. In terms of the culture context, the thought of ‘taking one's responsibility to the utmost and tolerance’ and the religious belief of ‘blesses and explanation’ both influence family resilience. It’s expected that the findings can be helpful to better understand the recovery process of the family with burnt adult, so that the appropriate interventions and services can been provided to assist the families going through the traumatic events. Furthermore, this research may be regarded as a pilot study in contribution to the theory-building of the disaster psychology. Lin, Chi-Wei 林繼偉 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 106 zh-TW
