It is out of my deep reflections as an elementary school director involved in practical affairs on my life process and professional development. Through narration based on the Six Disciplines, I hope to acquire self-knowledge and enhance professional thinking and career practice. The First Discipline, Self-Knowledge, is mainly about the life experience and stories of the narrator from childhood to teaching practice and the reflection on their influence. The Second Discipline, Personal Mastery, concerns the narrator's important suffering frustrations in life and how the narrator overcome the frustration and gain mastery over the experience. The Third Discipline, Mental Models, centers on the inquiry of the mental models of the narrator after being a director as well as of the colleagues. The Fourth Discipline, System Thinking, presents important events happening to the narrator when in charge of administrative affairs and the process of building up systematic thinking. The Fifth Discipline, focuses on how the researcher learns from teamwork and what the team brings to the researcher. The Sixth Discipline, Wisdom for Action, tells the process how the researcher gains wisdom for action by means of knowledge management, vision building, critical reflection, action and practice, as well as professional discourse. The First Discipline, Self-Knowledge, is mainly about the life experience and stories of the narrator from childhood to teaching practice and the reflection on their influence.
