The purpose of this research is to study the experiences of facing a lover shift love to another, including the meaning of departure, recognize others’ responses and influences, and relationship between the original companion after departure. Narrative approach was adopted in this research. After interviewing each of the four research participants, among half of whom are men, their life experiences were presented as stories. Each story was analyzed the features synthetically across all four cases were further studied.
The major findings are summarized as following:
1.The departure experience intension that four research participants go through includes two parts. The former part includes lost emotional responses, grievously psychological condition of the retrieve behavior, want contradiction, original companion disintegrate, and constrains the point of view of the envy. The later part includes they try to give a rational reason for ending the relationship, defend self-value, and realize the transformation of individual growth.
2. Interactive experience of the four research participants, include supposing and worrying about others' possible attitude, therefore they will not usually tell others actively one's own departure state according to the fact. And interaction with others' reality actively in experience, mostly show that is made warm surrounding, only one research participant shows hardly to be understand. The special one is, female friend of the research participants of female in this research, will care about the other side voluntarily, or criticize their original companions with the research participants. If as for in the part that male research participant, its let the male friend's friend accompany, large to can do something, in order to divert one's attention. And each other has the tacit understanding that not to mention the event
3. Four participant's relationships of research after departure and among the original companions, some will still regard the original companion as one's own mood supporter on the initial stage of saying good-bye. It is difficult to forget original companion's betrayal behavior after separating for some time. They will have more animosity and refuse to get in touch. The two male research participants, in their consideration, they think that they should take some responsibility. Hence, the two male research participants show still miss the former companions.
In the end of this paper the researcher will list the limitation of this research and provide advices to the future research and to guidance and counseling profession.
