Abstract
The research carried out teaching activities of visual arts by application of environment-friendly material, so the course was based on content of visual arts centered learning, let the objects create work of art by applying environment-friendly material and promoted the objects’ awareness of environmental protection during teaching. The purposes of the research were as below:
A.Discuss the meanings of application of environment-friendly material to the course of visual arts
B.Discuss the function and teaching content of environment-friendly material in the course of visual arts in lower grades of elementary school and develop teaching materials
C.Compare the difference between the theory and real teaching and discuss the applicability and feasibility of courses through carrying out teaching activities, and then offer the results of the teaching and research as the references for the course of visual arts in lower grades of elementary school.
The main results of the research as below:
A.Discuss the meanings of applying environment-friendly material to the course of visual arts
a.Environment-friendly material is an important stuff for the modern art creation
b.Environment-friendly material is green artistic creation
c.Environment-friendly material is low- structured material of arts
d.Environment-friendly material is an important modeling material of visual arts at elementary schools
e.Environment-friendly material in art and crafts teaching can enhance students’ recycling awareness
B.Discuss the function and teaching content of environment-friendly material in the course of visual arts:
a.The function of environment-friendly material in course of visual arts
(1). Environment-friendly material in course of visual arts could provide the kids exploring diverse materials
(2). Environment-friendly material in course of visual arts could provide the kids learning diverse skills
(3) Environment-friendly material in course of visual arts could provide the kids experiencing various modeling
(4). Environment-friendly material in course of visual arts could provide the kids expressing multiple functions
(5). Environment-friendly material in course of visual arts could improve the kids integrating experience of the sense of beauty
b.The teaching content of environment-friendly material in course of visual arts
(1). Concern about nature
(2). Show consideration for humanity
(3). Design landscape
(4). Reuse resources
(5). Discuss the characteristics of environment-friendly material
(6). Develop the sense of beauty
(7). Develop the abilities of creativity and cogitation
C. Compare the difference between the theory and real teaching and discuss the applicability and feasibility of courses through carrying out teaching activities
From the responses of experimental teaching and learning sheets, most objects liked the teaching content of environment-friendly material in course of visual arts in lower grades of elementary school, so the result showed that design of teaching activity could answered to the objects’ development of arts and that the application of the environment-friendly material in arts teaching according to the arts centered learning could develop the objects’ abilities of creativity and cogitation, develop their senses of beauty and show the new value of arts. The research kept on checking and correction from the gestation of the course, the design of the course to real teaching, and it showed that the application of environment-friendly material in course of visual arts in lower grades of elementary school is a concrete and workable course.
Last, I addressed some suggestions according to the results of the teaching and research as the references for the administration of courses in the future.
