It's based on the combination of communication service of levels, such as wired, optic fiber, radio, data, satellite communication, video- information and multimedia service , ect. ,and forming an interconnected system among the space, sky and ground vertically and horizontally. In order to transmit the information flow to the forward area of the battle field ; Primary goal is to enable the circulating information on the network to be trustful and can be used by the users; Second is to build and constrauct new and construct new and dynamic information in the network which can be used for fighting directly; The third is to utilize the enemy's advantage. In the future no matter operations or command and control officers can collect, access, deal with and distribute information through the workstation,including operating weapons and the information of commanding and controlling other actions.The communication will no longer become the user's restriction, the exchange and conversion of operational information will be faster,and combining and filtering a large amount of materials in the battlefield. Obtaining intelligence,confirming the goal,then mobilization attacking may only need even several seconds for several minutes, saving fight time. The satellite has already become the important equipment in order to execute the military operation task smooth recently; especially the combat is the important media transmitting the military information. In the face of future digitization and instant balltle field, how Taiwan military effectively combining satellite communication with whole Taiwan military networks to reach high the survival rate of networks will be important key factor of C2(Command & Control)system in the battlefield. The satellite technology already developed towards the wide-band multimedia network so far, the satellite ATM technology will be also ripe day by day. This area as the matter of fact, not only, Taiwan military can not exude oneself in this area, but also should make a review seriously to set up integrated used of the military communication satellite, fitting the operation formation of future netted and the telecom advantage. Taiwan military terrestrial backbone networks of the present stage is to transmit and exchange data using Asynchronous Transmission Mode (ATM), and the purpose of this research is how to combine satellites and ATM to archive networking warfare information advantage, and offer key problem and solutions that satellite apply to combination of networks and ATM, thus plan future Taiwan military satellite ATM, combining wireless communication and offering future networks necessary for netted warfare.
