To understand the information from different kinds of maps for problem solving is important in social studies curriculum. Several studies indicated that map teaching still can be improved in domestic education because the electronic map enriches the function of map and improve the quality of instruction by integrating technology with teaching. In this study, the researcher first improved the electronic map according to the teachers’ suggestions. And then the researcher encouraged the social-studies teacher to use the electronic maps for map teaching in the fourth-grade class. The results indicate that electronic maps, in addition to the advantages of traditional maps, owns the charactiristc of interaction to motivate students to learn. It’s more fun and can mediate students’ self-learning and discussion with each other.
