Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 幼兒教育學系研究所 === 95 === Under the framework of gender stereotype, the primary labor force in the environment of early childhood education in Taiwan is female. Recently, the male teachers occupy no more than 1% of the labor force. According to the previous literature on this topic, the gender stereotype and the occupational sex segregation are both the causes of this phenomenon. By means of interviews on multiple cases, this study points out that the gender stereotype and the occupational sex segregation are just indirect causes that discourage male teachers. When the owner of Capitalistic early childhood school in Taiwan enforces the gender stereotype to the occupational sex discrimination, the male want-to-be kindergarten teachers are unable to get the job easily and thus are inclined to leave this career. This paper discussed about the difficulties male teachers encounter in this career.
